How to retrieve password?

    A customer asks if I want to update his WP website and secure the site from hacks. I don’t have the password to the cpanel, nor do I have FTP password. How can I retrieve the password? The original web designer doesn’t cooperate…

    I do have the login and pw for the WordPress site. But it asks for FTP credentials when updating or installing a new plugin. Any ideas?

  • Whom owns the hosting package? – normally you’d get the host provider to reset/allocate new FTP passwords, often within the hosting account there is an option to set up FTP passwords.

    Hi,
    turns out the customer is owner of the domain, so I got a new password.
