Old wordpress.com blog still around after transfer to .org

  • About a year ago, I transferred my wp blog from .com to .org but I just noticed that the .com blog is still around! (I googled myself and found it on the first page of results!) What could have gone wrong? Everything seemed to transfer just fine. Do I need to close my .com account and then redirect the pages?

  • If your .com account has traffic, I don’t think it’s a good idea to close it. Redirect your pages instead to your .org site pages.

    Strangely, it won’t let me redirect. What’s the harm in closing the .com account?
