Attitude theme – slider is broken from initial installation

First try deactivating all your plugins to see if any may be causing that problem. If not, switch to another theme and delete and reinstall Attitude.

I’ve installed wordpress theme “attitude” here:

and as you can see, the slider does not work – meaning, the slider should appear as it does here:

I am not using any plugins. and I am using the latest wordpress
I’ve tried installing attitude via both FTP and via WordPress theme select and install
And yes, I switched to another theme first before deleting / reinstalling

I really want to get this working. Any help will be very much appreciated. Please

Under Appearance > Theme Options find the tab Featured Post/Page Slider

Click on the slideouts to set up the slider – you must first set featured images in the posts you want to appear there.

I think I have an idea of what I’m doing wrong now!

I have set the featured pages/ correctly, but how do I set a “featured image”?

So far I have only dumped an image onto the post / page.

Am I supposed to tell that image it is a special “featured image” somehow?

Yep, go to the post (under the Posts screen) and in the lower right corner there’s a box/link to set featured image – click on that to set a featured image for that post.

I think that may be it!

It’s working perfectly now =)

It didn’t work previously because I did not set the featured image, AND, because I chose “full screen layout” but my pictures were not wide enough, so the text sat out on their own on the right margin.

I’ve changed back to non full screen, and here is the beautiful result!
