Theme Advice

  • Hi there,
    I am looking to purchase a WordPress theme for a site I want to create and was looking to see if anyone had any recommendations.

    Although I am familiar with WordPress, I have no real knowledge of coding and so was hoping I could find something to fit my needs.

    The site will be very basic and based around one page of numerous links to other sites, separated into sections. Ideally I would like each section separated into a box etc so that I could include a small header.

    I hope this makes sense.

    There are many ways to achieve that.

    The easiest one is using the default blog home listing page, make a series of post including link in it. Adjust the date to order the post. Remove the visibility of the date from the front via CSS.

    There you have it.

    Thanks for your help Paul.

    I am looking to section these links off and would like to add to the different sections as and when I need to and so that solution probably won’t work.

    I would also like to make each section a little more aesthetically pleasing with the use of a header.

    The post listing usually includes entry header, optional featured image, choice of excerpt or content. So I don’t see why that can’t be done.

    I am really a beginner when it comes to this kind of thing, hence me looking for a theme.

    I will look into this, though I am not sure this is going to give me the result I want.
