Edit Post and Publish Post Hang – Debugging Found Issues

    For months now i have been having issues with WordPress hanging whenever i click to edit a post or publish a post and also sometimes when i log in, i ran a debug today and found these issues below, are they related, my server details are also listed.

    Perhaps the hanging is due to the number of update services that get pinged, i have decided to erase them and search for a plugin that does the job and see if that helps the issue.

    Server details are:

    php version 5.3.25
    mysql version 5.1.70
    apache 2.2.24

    The debug said this.

  • Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Twelve theme with all plugins deactivated?

    I have just removed a few things from the database that were redund and also amended the update services since some were now no longer running, maybe that’s why it was hanging, i’m going to try debug again and see what happens, i’ll try switching the plugins off one at a time rather than all at once and take your advice about the default theme too.

    Yeah it’s still an issue so i’ll try switching default theme and see what happens and then switch the plugins off.

    One of the issues is the mobile detector plugin with timezone, not a serious issue, the other two are related to the Table of Contents Creator plugin i am using, maybe time to look for a new one.

    Thinking about it, not sure if any of this is related to the hanging i am getting when editing a post, i’ll have to test that now.

    Okay i switched the WP mobile detector plugin back on and the errors returned with this message.

    The plugin generated 296 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

    You can close this thread, the issue was plugin related.
