I’m running a private little website at work for my group and this plugin will be great for displaying white papers and manuals. I am getting the below error for a PDF (the only document I have so far), but if I click “here” it displays. (tested using latest versions of Chrome and FF)

Any idea what might be preventing it from displaying upon page load?

Sorry, we were unable to find the document at the original source. Verify that the document still exists.
You can also try to download the original document by clicking here.

Thanks very much for the plugin. ??

  • I’d have to see the link to give you a definitive answer on that. If you’d like you can use the Support tab in GDE Settings to send me an example privately. (If it’s not private you can just post it here.)

Thank you very much for the offer of help. I’ll try to support tab.

I should also add that this is an IIS WordPress install too. ??

Actually, when I said it was “private”, I mean inaccessible to the outside world (not in corporate DMZ, internal only), so I doubt that support tab will be help. Dang.

Oh well. I’ll tinker a bit and hopefully can figure it out.

Thank you again for the offer of help. I appreciate the thought. ??

I don’t need access to your private site. You could just send the URL to the document (or another document that doesn’t work as a sample, if it’s sensitive).

My suspicion is that the document is private/offline/internal only also, which won’t work, per the FAQ. The site can be local but the document has to be internet-accessible, even if the location isn’t published anywhere. This is what allows Google Viewer to fetch it and for conversion and return to the viewer.

The site can access the internet (for example, to update WP versions or plugins through the admin area), but yes, the published pages/urls are only reachable if you’re on our corporate lan, so I guess this will be a no go for me. ??
