Not really all that strange. A lot of plugins and themes use the WordPress flush_rewrite_rules function, which flushes (deletes/overwrites) the root .htaccess file when you activate or deactivate them. And some even use flush_rewrite_rules when you access plugin settings pages or theme settings pages or save any settings.

If your host allows you to lock your root .htaccess file then you can prevent this issue/problem from occurring repeatedly by locking your root .htaccess file.

was thinking that might be it but safer to check ??

Btw host dont allow .htaccess to be locked.

Ok well since your host does not allow you to lock your root .htaccess file then the simplest thing to do is to go to the BPS Backup & Restore tab page and Backup htaccess Files. When your root .htaccess file is wiped out again you can go back to the BPS Backup & Restore tab page and use the Restore htaccess Files option. Or you can of course just Activate Root folder BulletProof Mode again. Either method is one click so no big deal.

Assume that this can be resolved? If not, please post a status update. Thanks.
