I’m trying to setup a page called “Portfolio” the page says Portfolio under the dashboard, the slug and permalink both say Portfolio, but when I publish the page to look at it, it’s showing me an older Portfolio page. I’ve checked the I checked to make sure the old page was deleted, I even went into PHPMyAdmin and deleted the permalink re_write rules, but it keeps displaying the old page.

I know Permalinks are the issue, because if I change the permalink from “/%category%/%postname%/” to default, where it numbers the pages, then the correct Portfolio page shows up. Ive spent like 2 hours on this, and I’m super frustrated. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

OH I also flushed DNS, so that’s not the issue.

Do you have a server caching plugin installed?

Hmmm I don’t think so, but below is a screen cap of all my plugins..

Deactivate all plugins, test. If that corrects the issue, activate plugins one at a time, test.

Of course, deactivate the duplicate posts plugin last.

Beyond that include a site link, it is most difficult to assist with a site we cannot see.

Thanks for the feedback, I tried what you suggested, with no luck. I should have included the site link sooner, I just thought this was a common WordPress issue. The link is: https://titusjames.com/portfolio Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

One more thing I was noticing that may be relevant, if you look at say “Blogs” or “Review” at the top of the tab it says “Blog – Titus James” or “Review – Titus James” but Portfolio says “Portfolio Items Archive – Titus James”. I didn’t type that in, I’m thinking maybe it’s a sub-directory that’s built in? Maybe that’s why if I turn permalinks off, I see the correct page?

I figured it out! It was part of my theme. It had a built in Portfolio “feature”, hardcoded into the theme functions was the portfolio slug. I changed it from “portfolio” to “myportfolio”, I still wasn’t seeing the correct results. So I changed my permalink settings back to “Default” then save, and switched back to my custom “/%category%/%postname%/” setting.. and voilà!! FIXED!!

Also thanks to the mod for changing my thread title and condescendingly posting the reason publicly, you really motivated me to find my own solution ??
