Leave a comment re-directs me

  • When I click on the “leave a comment” section of a blog post my site re-directs me to another page.

    I don’t want this to happen I want people to just leave comments as necessary on the blog page itself.

  • Have you tried testing to see if this behavior is due to your theme or a plugin? To do so, deactivate all plugins and switch to the TwentyEleven theme to see if the behavior still exists. If it doesn’t, switch back to your theme and reactivate the plugins one by one, testing each time to see what the culprit is.

    If the behavior still exists with the TwentyEleven theme, please post a link to your site so we can check it out.

    I’ve tried doing what you said but I still get the same result with new themes and no plugins.

    When I click on the omni-blog “Leave a comment” I am redirected to a page that has the following link

    The behavior you’re seeing is by design. Omni-Blog is displaying post excerpts. Comments can only be left on full posts. In order to leave a comment from the Omni-Blog post listing, WordPress needs to take you to the respective post first.

    This is how your theme is designed. You’d need to either make changes to the theme (using a child theme ideally) so that a full post is displayed instead of the excerpts; or find another theme that has the functionality you desire.
