• I seem to have an issue with this plugin not activating. It comes up with the following error –

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /home/……/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/ConfigKeys.php on line 1317

I’ve just spent nearly 2 hours trying to resolve it with no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.

I’m only wanting to install it because I’m trying to speed up my WordPress site which currently takes about 20-40 seconds to load up. I was hoping to enable the gzip feature hoping that might make a difference.

  • This is usually a site issue – not a plugin specific one. Try increasing the memory available to PHP.

Thanks for that. I’m using the twenty eleven theme and have done a backup of all the server files, and can’t find that file in there. I thought that might be easier than trying to find it on the server.

    Any Suggestions please?

I have just found a post that showed how to create a phpinfo.php file and then to access that via a browser to find the path. I’ve done that – and get – (/usr/local/lib/php.ini).

Do you know I STILL can’t find that path. It doesn’t seem to exist? I am now confused…

I have rung my hosting provider and they created a php.ini file directly inside the public HTML folder (even though my last post showed I had one) and have increased the memory and even tried turning the safe mode on and off – still no luck in installing it?

I think this plugin is a no go for me I’m afraid…

I still have no resolution to this yet. I have increased memory to ridiculous amounts and cannot install it still. Does anyone else have any more suggestions please?

What error are you seeing now?

Exactly the same message Esmi. This is it –

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /home/…/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/ConfigKeys.php on line 1317

I had the exact same problem until I disabled the ‘Event Manager’ plugin..
Did you find a proper solution yet?
