change home to page, not blog

  • I would like to use wordpress only with pages, don’t need the blog. How can I configure it to start with one specific page but not with the blog?

  • Future versions of WP will allow for this until then, https://www.semiologic.com/software/static-front/ plugin will accomplish the task.

    I have, and it works fine. The only real issue is understanding the term “slug” vs title. You simply change the Page’s slug you want on the home page to “home”. The slug is changed in the right hand box titled, aptly, “slug”.

    In my navigation bar I use get_settings(‘home’) to show a link to my home page and gengo_list_pages(‘sort_column=menu_order&depth=1&title_li=’) to list links to all pages. Unfortunately my home page shows in both sections. Is there a way to suppress its listing in the second part?
