What happens when you switch your theme from Salutation to something else like Twenty Twelve?
Does the problem still happen?
Hi @r-a-y
it does the same! Status mail not saved. Do you Want take a look at my site? I could send you login info ?? Thx for your support question.
Just tested on Twenty Twelve and it works for me.
I’m guessing there is a javascript conflict with a plugin.
What plugins are you running?
Hi both. I’m in the process of setting up a new site, working with a couple of WP testing grounds (seperate domains)and this plugin has also stopped working for me in the last 24hrs in both.
Whenever I start a new topic in a forum, or reply or @mention someone in the forum, suddenly no email notifications are being sent out.
I’ve tried altering settings, deactivating all non-key plugins, deleting and re-instaling this plugin and I’m still experiencing some difficulties.
Could you help? I’m running:
WP ver 3.5.2
bbPress ver 2.3.2
bbPress Enable TinyMCE Visual Tab ver 1.0.0
BuddyPress ver 1.7.2
BuddyPress Group Email Subscription ver 3.3.3Let me know if there any major plugin clashes I should avoid or specific settings that may be preventing this from happening
Still not working. I have set email status to myself for All emails (as admin), email status All emails to any user and no email notifications are being sent out.
I’m running:
WP ver 3.5.2
bbPress ver 2.3.2
BuddyPress ver 1.7.2
BuddyPress Group Email Subscription ver 3.3.3
Salutation theme 2.0.9On the page domain.com/groups/group-name/members is a list of group members where is shown their Email status. All users have Email status: No email and admin have Email status:”” empty.
Please suggest what steps to correct the problem. Thanks a lot.
Did you switch your theme from Salutation to something else like Twenty Twelve for testing?
Make sure you’re on Twenty Twelve.
Navigate to the group’s page and then go to “Admin > Members”.
See if the members have an email status. If not, make sure you’re the site admin and on the same page, you should see a block that says:
Site Admin Only: update email subscription settings for ALL members to the default: All Email. Warning: this is not reversible so use with caution. Make it so!
Click on the “Make it so!” link. This should change all the group member’s email status to “All Mail” or whatever you have set the default group email setting to be.
I have a new install of WP 3.5.2 and BP 1.7.2. I have only this one plugin activated in addition to BP, and the plugin seems to not work. None of the email options appear.
I also have an older site on which I have tested the plugin in the past, oh, six weeks. I see that there as well, the plugin is no longer functioning. That site was recently updated to BP 1.7.2, so perhaps the problem lies there.
Jeff
Could it be a compatibility issue with BP 1.7.2? I have the same issue. We upgraded to the latest BP and the email notification is not working. It is a blank screen when you click on View queued digest items
hih, it’s several of us who have this problem, but the author constantly repeats that he’s working. Still “Make sure you’re on Twenty Twelve.” And what version of WP, BP, etc. have Ray?
@ray, “We upgraded to the latest BP and the email notification is not working.”
I’m also still experiencing the same issue. I tried testing this prior to BP update and it wasn’t working for me. I tried after BP update 1.7.3 and still no luck. Anybody have any solutions? Thanks.
Hi guys, I have updated BP to v.1.8 and I have new info for you ?? – BuddyPress Group Email Subscription absolutely not working with these BP version! ?? Membership Group page aren’t loaded… turn off the plugin and all working fine. That is it. ??
I just tested a brand-new install of WP 3.5.2 and BP 1.8 locally.
My steps:
1) Installed WP 3.5.2
2) Installed BP 1.8
3) Installed GES 3.3.3
4) In the WP admin dashboard, I navigated to “Settings > BuddyPress” and enabled the “User Groups” component because you need the groups component active to use the plugin.
5) In the WP admin dashboard, I navigated to “Settings > Permalinks” and changed it to something else other than the default b/c BuddyPress requires pretty permalinks to work.
5) On the frontend, I created a new group with the “All Mail” email settings option for new members.
6) Logged in as a new user and joined the group. The new user had the “All Mail” option selected for the group. The only bug I encountered is the group creator has their email set to “No Mail” initially, but I quickly changed this manually.
The theme that I’m using is the default Twenty Twelve that came with WP 3.5.2.
I can only fix bugs that I can duplicate, however I am unable to replicate the problems listed in this thread.
Try the steps I did and see if you run into any problems.

The only other thing I can recommend is the suggestion I mentioned here.
Has anyone tried that? No one replied saying that they did.
Same issue as mt78, but I don’t even have “bbPress” under my dashboard. The only place I can see that bbPress is installed is in my plugin list. The forums are working, but there is no email notification option other than the ones to respond to specific posts. We really need to be able to send emails to our entire group at times.
I’m really new to all this…HELP!
Hey @r-a-y I changed theme to twenty twelve, updated BP to 1.8. I have WP 3.5.2 and your plugin 3.3.3. I still don’t have any email notifications that.
I would be inclined to think whether it was case on how emails are treated on the server side. Something along the lines of PHP SMTP kind of thing. The reason i don’t suspect that is because nothing has change from that end, and when i initially chose this plugin (back in mid June 2013) this plugin was working amazingly. All of the sudden round the WP update it stopped working and hasn’t worked since. At least for me. I have stripped down all plugins to 4 max and it still doesn’t send anything out. I fiddled about with the settings, and no other users are getting notifications. I don’t think its a ‘setting issue’ as again this was working fine a month ago.
Is there any other info i could provide that would be help in order to re-create the issue.
@gabokappa – Your problem doesn’t sound related to those that have posted in this thread.
They are having trouble saving their email settings. You appear to have general problems sending email. Do you receive any BuddyPress email when an at-mention or private message is sent? If not, I would try using any WP SMTP plugin to send your email.
