@inkuda – Thanks for letting us know which plugin was causing the issue. @criticalstriker – would you mind deactivating all plugins (including NextGEN Gallery), temporarily switch to the WP Default Theme, and then clear your browser cache. Go back and reactivate NextGEN Gallery only and let me know if that fixes the issue you’re seeing?

    Hope that helps!

I am aware of the plugin problem. I tried on my own local, everything works.
Plugin WPML(Multilanguage stuff) causes the problem, or the Nextgen gallery causes I dont know.
Problem I have here is this : Why do I have to deal with memory allocations?
I checked on server error logs, it was because of too much usage of memory limit.
Can’t you decrease the memory usage of the plugin that I can use my essential plugins together?
What you offer is not a solution. Its just being aware of the problem.
    I need solution. A fix.
And please, suggest a reasonable solution. Using fresh wordpress with default template and no extra plugin is really not a solution. Its retarded.
So in Description of plugin add a note like this : “Please use default wordpress theme with no plugins. Thats the only way”.

@criticalstriker – You don’t have to use the default theme with no other plugins in order to use NextGEN Gallery, I’m asking to help target any possible incompatibilities with the plugin. We require a minimum memory_allowed, 128MB usually does it, but in some cases more like 250MB is needed, but it varies with server so there is no ‘one solution fits all’. The memory allowed setting is needed due to uploading images in batches, which is a normal requirement no matter what type of gallery plugin you use.

We wish so badly that we could be compatible with every single plugin, of the hundreds that are available on WordPress, but unfortunately some just don’t play well with our plugin, this is why we ask if deactivating helps, and if so, reactivate each of the other plugins, one at a time until the issue comes back. If that doesn’t do it, and there is a legitimate bug in our plugin we’ll address it as soon as we can.

    Best,

My issue is similar. I can uploaded the image. After that, I tried to edit thumb in Manage Gallery, the pop-up of Edit thumb, Meta & Rotate are blank and shown nothing.

It happened after I upgrade to WP 3.5.2.

Can you give me a hand?

    Thanks.

I am having a similar issue. I upload images via FTP, create a new gallery, scan folder for new images. I then get a bunch of “a failure occured” errors while creating thumbnails. Once the process is done I select the missing thumbnails, then run the “create new thumbnails” function and it creates the thumbnails without issue.

I have deactivated and reactivated the plugin. But disabling other plugins isn’t an option since this is on a heavily used live site.

    Thanks

    Hello there,

I have the exact same issue.

I tried to desactivate the few plugins I have including NextGen and reactivating only NextGen. Thumbnails cannot be generated….

    Any advice?

WP Maintenance mode has a bug in it. If you have it installed you need to disable it, not just set it to “false”. Once I did that the issue with NextGen thumbnails went away.

    And where I do that?

Go to the admin/plugins. If you see have WP Maintenance Mode click the “deactivate” link.

    Hello,

The same is happening here, it was working with WordPress 3.5.2 and NextGEN Gallery 1.9.13 and it stopped working. Tried to deactivate other plugins, but it’s not working either. BTW, do you know when then new version of NEXTGEN will be live?

Hi. In my case helped to deactivate plugins and activate one by one(i didn’t activate all of them)

hi, same problem after upgrade to wp 3.5.2 but i can add images and thumbs by adding images via ftp and using “import folder wp” function.

    no solution?

    I have the same problems!
    WP 3.5, NextGen 1.9.12
The first solution I found are the PHP settings. As long as i was using php5.2 everything works correct. With change to php5.4 the problem started. The different are the settings from my provider.
With php5.4 he changed the PHP Allow URL fopen from Off to ON. With this settings I could not create Thumbs.
After changing back to OFF Modus the thumbs are created.
But now the thumbs are like a mosaic.
