Membership discounts

hi,

things to try:

1. create a ticket specially of members only at bookings/registration section when creating or updating an event in the ticket form (ticked Members Only)

2. using a snippet, check if the user is a member and apply a discount (you can modify this snippet – https://pastebin.com/nXSQWLH8 )

* noticed the + 10 which you can change to less a special discount to the ticket price

Ok so just to clarify.

I want to have three types of payments:

Members which is $25
Children $10, &
Sponsors $10

How exactly would I set it up for that then.

Do i need to create a ticket for each group?

There may be one issue, which is that the membership is not determined by the website but via another method so I can’t just rely on people clicking ‘member’ because they may not be.

Is there a way around this is is it one of just matching up the membership registrations via my site with the memberships record via the other means?

While I think of it, instead of having to go back through 600 events to add another specific ticket (actually 2 of them) is there a way that this can be achieved somehow to make it apply across all events (code or script it somehow)

if you’re using a role-based membership plugin, then this should be something you’ll be able to do in the next week or so as we’ll be adding that feature to tickets. otherwise it’d involve custom coding

sounds great except i have no idea what a role-based membership plugin is unfortunately. I’ve already exceeded my knowledge on this topic so you’ll have to talk slowly for me ??

I’m honestly at the stage where I need to pay somebody to do this for me as I’m out of time to learn how to do it myself ?? Do you do contract work Marcus?

Is that better than using your inbuilt https://www.authorize.net/ capability? If so why, i can’t really see the difference at this stage.

I may have jumped the gun here… if you don’t want to restrict people from buying member tickets (meaning you want members to log in and see the ‘members’ ticket), then, you can just create seperate tickets for each.

If you want to force users to have a paid membership, then you need a membership plugin to admin that side of things first, like the one angelo said (we are s2m fans)
