    In summary, you want an API key from wordpress.COM.

    So, off you go to wordpress.COM to sign up for a free blog. Yes, that gives you a free blog. No, you need not EVER use it!!! Just log into once, get the key, and run back to your own blog and enter the key.

    I am afraid you are posting in the wrong forum: you can get the akismet thing ?? by opening an account at wordpress.COM and they also have their own forum:
