Posting is Slow

  • I have pings and trackbacks turned off, but it’s still taking a long time to save my changes to a post.

    When I click “save” on a post, it takes 10-20 seconds before it completes the process and takes me to the next page.

    If I open a new browser window, I can see that the actual text got updated right away, but it’s taking a long time to do something else.

    What is taking it so long, and how can I speed things up?

    PS. Using WP v2.02

  • As admin, Options -> Writing. What do you have in Update Services? Try removing that pingomatic thingy — it seems to be down a lot lately.
