wordpress login

  • Hello all,
    new to wordpress, 2nd website created, 1 launched and ftp’d successfully, 2nd was created on wpress on a folder onto the 1st site so i could use www.remarpro.com instead of .com for the plugin’s etc… problem i now have is this,
    when i was transferring all files from online server to c/drive to redirect them to the new domain some files got corrupt and i have to start ftp from scratch i changed the website url address in wordpress -general-settings to the new web address and now i cant log on to the wordpress file to change it back ie
    orig address before trans was https://www.fethardconventcommunityhall.com/butlerssportsbar/wp-admin i didnt change user or password in the general settings page, now when i try to log on it redirects me to the new domain site which says it doesnt exist, i am trying to reset the password so i can get on i cant find the email they are sending as i was always logging on as colette1 i have checked all email address’s that could be associated with this site and they are no-where to be found,
    can someone pls help, iv worked very hard on the new website with html & css elements to it and now its a ball of sh**e online

    Sorry – I don’t have the solution; but I did exactly the same thing just now: I changed the wordpress url address in general settings and now I can’t login.

    Did you have any luck with any answers?

    I’ll let you know if I find anything too.

    hi treyfarley,
    no solution to this yet, but i have been reading the forums on other related problems, i am going to see a designer tonight and hopefully he will be able to fix for me… the website is a gift for someone for next tues so im feeling extremely sick at the moment over it..

    Change the urls back. See Changing_The_Site_URL for details of how to do this correctly.

    My problem is the “four easy ways” that the page describes is WAAAAAY beyond me!
    trying to figure out how to access FTP now.

    Kinda getting there.
    I have FTP access to the site but just don’t know which file I have to upload into!

    Which of the 4 methods described are you trying to use?

    i was reading through this and will attempt this tonight when i am with my web expert friend? hopefully ill have a result ill post back up sat morn if i was successful
    i have the wp file from my c/drive on a mem key, in case i need to upload everything and start from scratch again.

    ok sorry this was sorted a while ago,
    i went to my web expert pal and he fixed the php my admin file in the cpanel of my host server to reroute back to the original website
    i then discovered i didnt export the website from wordpress.com and had to upload it to www.remarpro.com when i eventually got in, twas difficult and confusing for me as a newbie but i got it sorted.
    also just this weekend had an issue with database not established, got my webserver to revert back to a date last week and all was working ok again, tried to upload a backup plugin this morn and the site crashed absolutely refused to load back up onto my browser, had to go into the file manager and find the plugin i installed this morn and deleted it out of the plugin folder and hey presto its all working again, but tell me what plugin can i use that has a reliable backup system on it pls & thank you
