Twitter feed without an app?

  • Am I missing something or do I now have to set-up an app within each of my client’s twitter accounts to stream their tweets to a feed a plugin on their website? Do I have to do this for each, individual twitter feed account? Can i no longer pick up a feed purely from the account username as I used to do?

  • Hey.

    It wouldn’t be a necessity to have an app for each of your client accounts. One app can be used for multiple user timelines and multiple websites.

    Something to take into consideration are the rate limits – Twitter allows 180 requests per 15 minute time frame, per access token.

    Thanks for your response. So if I create the app in my own twitter account, I can then use it to feed any number of other twitter accounts in to different websites, so long as I am aware of the total tweet traffic being routed through my app?
