    Good Morning,

IM very new here so forgive me if i do not provide the right detail.

I have the rss multi imorter on my blog. right now its only over in the right column but ive been looking for days on how to get it in the main area of the blog. If it helps to know the theme im using is IFeaturePro 5

I cannot for the life of me find out how to put that in the main blog area as there are no options in the theme for putting widgets in that area. it seems like i read someplace that i would have to change that area from a place to post. which is fine but i have no idea how to put it in the main box to the left.

If it helps the url is https://alldigitalradionetwork.com/

    Thank you all

    Darryl

all you need to do is place shortcode, like this [wp_rss_multi_importer], on a page where you want to post the rss feeds…sounds like you’re using the theme widget, but you don’t need to use that UNLESS you want it to be in the side column.

    Allen,

first of all i cannot thank you enough for your response because i was losing my MIND trying to come up with anything.
Your answer because im new leads me to HAVE To ask other questions just to undertand it.

Right now i have my main page set up to post blogs. Do i have to do any modifications here in order to be able to place that short code in.

I also know nothing about short codes and i should probably read up on them someplace. do i literally copy and paste what you said on the page or in a post? or do i need to go into the config file?
and finally where would i go to control how many feeds show up from each point etc.

Sorry for all the questions when i know ur helping me but im so new to this that in not yet at the point that everythign makes sense yet and thank you again.

ok…here is what you do…add a new page in wordpress where you want the feeds to show (or just use some current page). Title the page and then where you would write stuff, instead put in this shortcode, exactly as this:

    [wp_rss_multi_importer]

you can put in parameters as well, like which categories you want to include – you can read more about the categories here:

    https://www.allenweiss.com/faqs/how-do-the-categories-work/

    That should get you started.

Thank you so much.. im gonna be home in and hour and ill do just that. but if this works i have ONE MORE QUESTION

How do i then make that page the HOME page that people get to when they go to my site. And if i have that on the page am i unable to also use that slider that i have at the top of my page and i would be unable to do posts right? im bascically changing over from a posting style page to a regular page is what im assuming.

Is there any way at all to add that multi importer line to the current main page that i have on AllDigitalRAdioNetwork.com ?

    (@darryl505)

my ultimate goal would be to have that slider.. and then have that multi importer under that to pull all my feeds to the main page.. ID ALSO love to be able to throw a post or 2 in there but thats totally not a deal breaker.. the only thing id love to do is find a way to use that slider as well as the multi importer on the same page

go into wordpress, settings, the click on Reading…that is where you decide what goes on the Front page…and yes, you can put whatever you want on that front page and then have the shortcode in there as well to display the feeds.

    Plugin Author Allen

    (@amweiss98)

right…you can do that to….just read the shortcode parameters page inside the plugin admin section and it will show you all the things you can do.

Allen i cant thank you enough.. im home. i did it. and it worked.

Now i just have to try to find the shortcode parameter for the slider. and ive never heard of shortcode parameters so i would have likely NEVER found this on my own. I dont see the section that you speak of. maybe its different on mine. ill do more research because if ur unable to show me where that is i still CANT thank you enough for this one bit of information its expanded my ability

Sot hat were clear that i went to the dashboard. i clicked plugin and i don’t see anything there other than a list of plugins which was actually blank. so im not sure about if im in the right spot or not.

here is a video that shows where the parameters are for the shortcode

    https://www.screencast.com/t/k3IAiIMfAGw4

Note that not all parameters will work for all the templates….they will all work in the default template, but not necessary in the slider.

Allan.. u have given me enough to last me the next week of study.. thank u a million times over. ONE VERY quick question. I have just found out that i can add that short code you gave me to an actual post. and it works. My question is will the post remain the same because of the time stamp of when i added it to the post or will it continute to pull fresh information based off the paramators i set up in the rss feed settings?

    Plugin Author Allen

    (@amweiss98)

if it’s the shortcode it will pull fresh information (if there is updated information in the feed) whenever someone comes to the site.

    p.s.

JUST RATED IT. and thank you.
I know i said no more questions but ur knowledge doesnt seem to end so i have one more (cause i know its gonna take me all day to find it)
The first time i played with this plugin.. the posts in the rss feed showed up mixed in. meaning a post from one feed. then a post from another. until all of the posts were there.

Now for some reason i get 3 posts from feed 1. 3 more from feed 2 etc.
I dont see where i changed anything in the settings but i liked it the way it was before where the different feeds would just show up in the list NOT in order. Any idea what setting i might have changed?

    Plugin Author Allen

    (@amweiss98)

that’s the way it works…since the feeds are all updated in real time and you have a mix of feeds and they are ordered by time, they can change. As for how many come in, that is handled by these settings

    https://www.screencast.com/t/bY0H9ANvZ

    Thread Starter darryl505

    (@darryl505)

oh got you so the reason they are showing up in order is just more of a coincidence because of the way the feeds update. i got you

    Thank you so much

Good Morning Allen or anyone who might be able to help..

This morning i woke up and i went to my blog as usual and the posting had TOTALLY changed. I assume i caused this by accident clicking something but i did not go into the settings yesterday and it was also not like this yesterday.

    https://alldigitalradionetwork.com/

All of the posts are from the multi rss feeds and are listed separately (which is fine with me) yesterday it was just one post that i threw that short code in and it all showed up in that one post. The problem is that i have the settings to only pull 3 entries per feed and its pulling 5 or 6 from the news feed which means that the other entries are on the second or third page.

Also since they are all listed as separate posts i have no idea where that short code is anymore as it was at one time in that first post. I know this might sound odd but I did not go in to modify anything that would have affected this. i woke up this morning and my feeds are showing as separate posts instead of one posts and the criteria of only showing 3 things per post seems to not be in effect anymore.
