Cannot display Amazon widget in Content F2.2.1

Using f2.2.1
Whether directly inserting Amazon Carousel widget in a page’s content, or using Quick Adsense plugin (have tried other plugins, same result), if the css is float:right, the widget displays momentarily and disappears altogether. If css is float:none, widget displays (displays the correct size in f2.2.1 parent theme, if using child theme does not respect the size parameters and displays as full content width)
Ideas on what I need to do to get float:right and size parameters working in a child theme (if not, then for the parent theme)?
