www/non-www

  • I have site that when you type the non-www version of the URL into a Google Chrome web browser (works fine in IE or Firefox) it very quickly redirects to the www version in the address bar, then redirects back to the non-www version. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen, or heard of this before, and I’m worried that it might actually be having some undesired consequences. Has anyone eve seen this before/can anyone shed any light on this situation?

  • What is your home URL?
    What URL have you used as your preferred URL in your Google Web Master tools account?

    Check your .htaccess file for a redirect, and also check your hosting cpanel for some sort of redirect.

    Be sure both site URLs are the same in Dashibard>>Settings>>General

    Either with or without the www, but the same.
