Backend: forward slashes duplicating in multiples of two on save for apostrophes

When I put an apostrophe in a field under the “Restaurant Details” it adds a forward slash and duplicates forward slashes for every time I save in multiples of two.
In the emails received it has all the forward slashes in it, as does the email which is sent to the client.
