Removing bullets from Sidebar in Semiologic

I’ve been able to figure out a few basic things with Semiologic, like changing font sizes, adding my own header image, adding ads, etc, but I can’t seem to figure out two things:

1) how to remove bullets from the sidebar and sidebar-ext.php (I’m using the three column format.)

&

2) How to increase the # of posts that appear on the first page

Any help would be great. Thanks!
