favicon not working ?

  • Hello,
    I seem to have a problem with the favicon. Can′t find in which size or filename or type it needs to be uploaded. I have tryed uploading .png .gif . jpg called them favicon and tryed sizes from 15x15px to 100x90px.
    I used to have a plugin installed All in one favicon than it would at least show while being in the admin area on the wp dashboard or something it would display the favicon but not when a user looks at the page. i have deactivated the plugin and tryed uploading again. still nothing .

    any idea? what am i doing wrong?
