Posts from one category and children of another category

I’m stumped. Here is the scenario.

User is viewing posts from the ‘Business’ category. On the right-hand column I would like to list recent posts that have ‘Business” (or any of its children) as a category but also have any children from a category named Column. However, I do not want to posts from the parent “Column” category.
