• Hi… I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, but my keywords tags are not showing in my static homepage. The templated Yoast keywords are showing up in every other page.

Even if I try to add customized keywords to the homepage (in the Edit page) it still won’t add keywords.

Also I tried to tell my site to make the canonical page just https://www.harrislawpa.com/. But my SEO inspector shows it’s still just https://www.harrislawpa.com/home/.

I tried adding a meta code that was supplied on this Yoast forum that I found. But when I inserted that (with Genesis hooks) it just caused my page not to load, so I removed it.

    Some other info:

I’m using a StudioPress site that uses Genesis.

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated!

  • in seo configuration, titles and meta, the option for the keywords is by default disabled. And yoast says: ‘I dont know why you want to enable, but if you want, you cant check this’

If you enable this, you have to set keywords in the next panel.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I realize what you’ve written. I already enabled that feature in Yoast and set the keywords in the next panel. I also set the keywords on the individual page for the static homepage. But it is not registering or showing up in my SEO inspector plugin in Chrome.

You dont need any inspector, just view source of the pages and perform a search of the string :’meta=”keywords”‘

In my configuration of yoast i’m using my tags as keywords:
    1. check Use meta keywords tag? in seo > titles and metas > general
    2. go to seo > titles and metas > post types and set the field ‘Meta keywords template:’ to value ‘%%tag%%’

Yes I viewed the source page and the keywords are not there. I don’t wish to use tags as a means of generating keywords. I like how Yoast automatically keeps them on every page. If I don’t assign a tag each time when I create a post/page, it won’t add it right?
