• Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public

To correct this issue, move the .htaccess file from wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager to /home/fmcleami/public_html/wp-content/backup-db

I see the message above every time I open my dashboard and it’s in bright red font. I have moved the .htaccess file as requested but I still get the same message. Can anyone help?

  • You can either deactivate the WP-DBManager plugin. Or fix the problem.

Whenever I get that message, it has been the “Path To Backup:” field on the Database-DB Options (from left sidebar in WordPress Admin) that is wrong. Typically, when I change hosting.

The Path could either be incorrect or not writable.

To get an exact cause of the error, see the “Checking Backup Status” of the Database-Backup DB page.

If you want to know the correct Path, a control panel on your host often can help, typically in its File Manager facility, but it may just display it for you in a sidebar. Depends on your hosting.

FTP programs like FileZilla often display all or part of the full Path.

If none of that seems to help, please contact your Hosting Support folks, or check their Support web site.

Thank you so much johnradio. I deactivated it for now and will look into it further when I have time.
