Click tracking Opening in new tab = pop-up blocked

While click tracking is set to “on” and ads are set to open in a new tab – chrome will detect clicks as “pop-ups” and block them accordingly.
I’m guessing this has to do with the way clicks are detected – but am stumped as to how to fix this – any ideas?
