    I guess it depends on how you did the installing/uninstalling.

    If you simply deleted the files off your server without going through the plugin uninstall procedure, then your data would be intact. If you used the plugin uninstall procedure (on the Plugins admin screen), then it will delete all data and files from your server and database.

    I deleted the plugin by going to wordpress plugins, deactivating and then deleting (I thought I was deleting another unused form builder). When I reinstall the forms do not appear. Is there a directory in my backup I could go to retrieve the forms and somehow reupload them?

    PS if I had of deleted using FTP delete I’d have been OK (which I didn’t) is that what you’re saying?

    Yes, if you deleted the files only, your data would still be there. However, the uninstall procedure removes all VFB-related tables and options in your database.

    I can’t help you with any backups, so I suggest contacting your host for help there.

    Ok this needs to be closed then. Lesson learned, be more careful and read.
