• Hello everyone,

I’m trying to log in to my WordPress installation today and it’s giving me a different kind of window than usual. It’s more like a FTP or server login. See this photo: https://d.pr/i/5d0i

If I simply click Cancel, it returns a page saying “Unauthorized Access”. I disabled Better WP Security, so I don’t think that’s the issue. I also checked everything in wp-login.php and read the official WordPress document on all of this.

Any ideas? I need to get back in the site as soon as possible.

    Thanks!

  • Ask you host, because a lot of them are adding login prompts due to brutalforce attacks.

What would the username and password even be though?

It’s additional protect, to prevent accessing directly to the wp-login.php file, just in case you are using weak passwords. Just wondering why so many hostings aren’t notifying their users for this.
