  • You only need a child theme if you are going to modify theme files. That would only be necessary if you want to make major changes to your theme – you can do lots just using the theme settings and options and possibly modifying CSS. It looks like you are using Custom Community Theme and it already has a Custom CSS option – so you can make any changes there.
