    I used to have a self-developed MySQL backend, but I recently decided to go with WordPress to make my updates more streamlined.

    The site is mostly a scrapbook/personal website, but it might be worth checking out for the format. I stripped out a lot of the pretty fonts, but I think the new WordPress site looks pretty nice all the same.
    Comments appreciated, but don’t slam the site just because it’s personal ??

    I love the header graphic! Nice clean look to the place.
    I offer these comments:
    – May I suggest that you make your graphic less than 800px wide, as when people set their view window to 800×600, they have a few pixels of window chrome and the vertical scroll bar included in that width. By having your site at that width, you may force your visitors to use the dreaded horizontal scrollbar! Next thing you know, you’ll be wanting to use Opera as a browser and then it just goes down hill from there. ?? Just ask Sushubh, he can tell you.
    – May I also suggest that you try to optimize your header graphic as well? It weighs in at 32Kb which is a fair bit of weight.

    I agree with the Moose. I’m at 800×600 here at work and I am getting a slight horizontal scroll. (IE 6.0)
    Other than that, very nice! I liked your thoughts on love. ??

    Yeah, the horizontal scroll is a problem. But I’m on dial-up at the moment and the header loaded OK for me. You have to wait a couple of seconds but people on dial-up are used to that ??

    Sorry about that all. It’s self-hosted, and we were having some firewall trouble. Thanks for the comments on 800×600 resolution… I hadn’t thought about the scrollbar and window dimensions!

    Site width now seems fine. I am on 15 inch tft with FF sidebar enabled and it is spot on. Picture of the pussycat is absolutely awesome. If you haven’t seen it readers please check it out ??
