    cool!
    but!
would be even cooler if we could have
    a) a pick image sidebar when posting and just click on the image and have the img tag inserted on the fly into the post.
including a radio button to choose whether to display the thumb or the full size image
    b) a “browse… ” button on the post screen to add an image when posting, instead of splitting the process into 2 screens (file upload). if the user “browses” and uploads a pic the relevant img tag gets stored and can be added by clicking e.g. an “add image tag” button.
would smooth out the workflow ??

    addendum:
imagemagick would be cool too (optional) since it allows for cropping and resizing, rotating etc. – a good way to ensure thumbs/images are always the same size

That would be great I agree. I use Movable Type to make my image posts as it uploads a photo I pick, makes the thumb to specified size, then creates a popup html page, and inserts the code into the page. 3 clicks.
Results in a thumb in article which opens up a popup that looks great as it is an html page. Also has the option to just copy and paste the code. Uses ImageMagick.
I like wordpress, but image upload could use lessons from MT. Lets hack it lol

b2 had an image upload link right from the post page, not sure why it’s not part of WP now (maybe it was a hack i installed and forgot about?).
It worked great, even dumped the link into your post. Of course, something that created thumbs, etc would be nice, but at least having the option to upload from a post would be very helpful.
