• I have a custom post type with custom fields created by the wp-types plugin.

I have a custom field with the name ‘wpcf_local_areas_covered’ and want the contents of this field to appear by default in the meta description for the post.

So in the relevant meta description template I have entered %%cf_<wpcf-local-areas-covered>%% but this only outputs %%cf_%% and not the actual field’s value.

I have also used the post title – %%title%%, which is returned as expected.

Is there a way to make a Types custom field be used in this way?

  • I’d like to know this too. I’m not using Types on my current cpt project, but I do use it often and this will crop up for me soon no doubt.
