• I recently started making a website and everything was going fine until I read an article on here how to publish your site to the public. I moved some files and now I can access the Dashboard but cannot make any changes to the theme at all. I get this error

ERROR: The themes directory is either empty or doesn’t exist. Please check your installation.

I cannot login into my FTP Directory to fix it and have no idea what I did now. I am very frustrated because this is for my business and I need to get the website up and running soon.

Website is https://www.organicized.com and In the setting I have both urls set as https://www.organicized.com I tried changing them to different folders but cant even remember what files are in my ftp. PLEASE HELP

OK, if you don’t remember what files you moved can you at least tell us if they were WordPress core files or any other files like theme templates?

I copied the index.php and put it into another folder moved my webconfig file which I edited as well. Clueless from here.

Okay, let’s try this (and that should fix the problem. Do a reinstall WordPress manually from a freshly downloaded copy of WordPress except wp-content. Do not overwrite files/ folders but delete them before reinstalling.

Use FTP or your hosting control panel as you cannot access dashboard.
Backup your site including MySQL database so that you can always restore in case anything goes wrong.

Am I going to lose everything ive already done to the site?

this is a joke. I will send someone a check if they can fix it for me. I have no time to deal with this.

No. Your theme, plugins, images, etc. are in wp-content that you are NOT going to change and all the work done by you are saved in your MySQL database at a separate location. So, you won’t lose everything. Anyway, backup everything so that you can always restore your site if you accidentally or erroneously delete or otherwise mess with the wrong files/ folders.

Then you need to hire someone:
