Wowsliders won't continue working without $99 Wowslider renewal every year?

    We produce WordPress sites for other companies, so I have purchased the $99 Wow license. On the Wow site in FAQs it IMPLIES that Wow sliders will continue to function after the license period has past…

    However, a recent response from Wow tech support seems to be saying that that’s not actually true — that things can change (e.g., WP updates), so the Wowsliders would NOT continue to work without a Wow update. So the only way to guarantee they keep working is to buy another annual $99 Wow license. So in ten years that would mean $990 in Wow licensing!

    Wow — is that literally the case? Is there no alternative? Otherwise we are going to need to find a cheaper alternative to Wow sliders for client websites in the future.

    The Business License is for life, it also includes 1 year of free upgrades.

    After your free upgrade period will expire, you will be able to upgrade your license for only the 50% of the current license price or continue to use version you received as a last free upgrade as long as you need it.

    As I now understand things, having the license last for “life” doesn’t really mean much…

    The real issue is the period of “free” updates — because if the next WordPress update necessitates a Wowslider update in order to work, and you’ve gone past your year of Wow updates, then you’re dead. Either you have to buy another year of Wow updates, or your Wowsliders will not work anymore.

    Is this not true?

    Plugin itself is free. So, you can try to update plugin only. In most cases sliders generated with old version of WOWSlider app. will work with new version of plugin.
    In rare cases very serious changes are required to make WOWSlider compatible with new version of WordPress. So, new version of plugin will not work with old sliders. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to create a software that will predict all future updates of WordPress.
    Also, you can insert sliders manually. WordPress updates shouldn’t affect on this publishing method.
