Can't Add Slideshow to Page Using Columns Plugin

I am using the Columns plugin on my pages and when I try to include a slideshow on the page only the slideshow does not show up. I just see the short code on the web page. I’ve tried using Meteor Slides and the WP Gallery Slideshow. If I place the slideshow on a page without setting up columns using the Columns plugin the slideshow works fine. What do I need to do to have the slideshow appear on a page that has columns set up?
