[Suggestion] Send database backup through WP given email address.

    This is great plug-in. But all the email backup, that are sending this plug-in mark as phishing. I think the main problem is, this plug-in doesn’t use the WordPress blog email system.

    If this plug-in can send email via the WordPress with proper authentication, it’s better.

    For an instance, I use “WP-Mail-SMTP” plug-in to send all them mails though my Google apps email address with proper authentication. But this plug-in doesn’t use that email plug-in to send email backup to my personal email account.

  • I second this suggestion. If the plugin used wp_mail() instead of PHP’s mail() function it would give much more flexibility and support things like sending messages over SMTP. I tested just changing mail() to wp_mail() in wp-dbmanager.php and database-manage.php and it seemed to solve the problem but my testing was not extensive by any means.

    Oops. I take my previous comment back. The backup emails are sent but the attachments are encoded in the body of the messages…
