• I did a search but cant seem to find what I am looking for although I am sure most likely I just missed it somewhere

Anyway, I am trying to creat pages for my site that I can list basic information

    https://www.thepawspaonline.com/

The only way I can figure it out to have the same look as my site though is to set the link to go directly to the page id

For example, on the beauty link, I want it to actually have the url as esimonsen.com/grooming not have to have it point to a page id #.

I have created a grooming html document but cant get it to open in the post area or have the look of my blog

Any help, link to appropriate info, ect is greatly appreciated

All you have to do is enabling “nice” permalinks. See Using_Permalinks and also your admin > Options > Permalinks. In this way you don’t need to create any additional html files.

hmm, ok, but what option would still just allow my nav buttons to show as:

    beauty: /grooming

    sleep: /boarding

    gallery: /photos

    and

    schedule: /appointment

Maybe I am not reading the info on the permalinks right but the way I am seeing it, I would need to do a custom for each one?

go to Options > Permalinks in your admin.
you’ll need to either choose one of the other two options, or use the “custom” one.

you have to end your custom one with /%postname%/ to get the “nice” link in the URL

the one I use has this in that custom box:

    /%category%/%postname%/

that’s about as close as you’re going to get to what you’re looking for here…

    Thanks ??

I guess what I am really trying to do is get something like this.. https://www.esimonsen.com/boarding.html more info of course

To open up where the blog entries do. I want to have my header, footer, ect, but not the sidebar and such on those pages. I tried using the info for static pages, but it didnt work

well now you’re talking about theme modification, and page templates… stuff like that.

do a search in the codex for “modifying themes” and see what you come up with.

(that link didn’t work for me, btw…??)
