• Hi. I have the weirdest thing happening to my blog (newly moved to WP). Whenever my main page is loaded, it is slowed down due to the page querying another site:

    roberto.speich.free.fr

I have no idea why it’s doing this. I don’t have any pictures or links to that site but if you go to my blog, you can see that url being loaded with the main page. I’ve went all thru the template files and found nothing linking that site. When you put it in directly in your browser, it comes up to a blank index page.

Does anyone have any idea why “roberto.speich.free.fr” would be called when loading my main index page? Is there any file I should check to see if there’s a link to that site which I could remove.

Thanks for any help. I just don’t get this.

  • Querying all your links does not show that.
Have you anything cached that could be interfering?

I checked the links as well and nothing. I use firefox as my browser so I dumped the cache to get a fresh load of the page and watched the status bar after I reloaded the main page and it seems to be still trying to load or query that site (roberto.speich.free.fr). I also checked it from both my home and work computers (home runs ubuntu linux, work wintel) and it did it on both so I know it’s not any specific pc.

It does slow the loading of my page down which is annoying. But it’s also annoying a site getting attached some how to mine that I know nothing about!

It’s your NeoCounter script that loads in a whole lot of images from that site — all the flags and maps. That certainly slows things down…

Hat tip to Firefox’ LiveHTTPHeaders extension!
