• So here’s my problem.

I’m developing a website for Ingham Habitat for Humanity AND the Americorps/VISTA members serving at Habitat. My supervisor is in charge of both programs and wants websites for both.

I built a css-based website in dreamweaver for Ingham Habitat (www.inghamhabitat.org). While I had intended to make this website dynamic and editable by non-techies I never got around to it. In fact, when I did try to install wordpress at first I couldn’t – and I didn’t have time to fully troubleshoot my problem because of specific deadlines.

Recently I was asked to build the website for the Americorps/VISTA program for Habitat for Humanity of Michigan. This time I really wanted to crack that wordpress problem. After switching from a windows server to a linux server it worked. Now I’m proceeding to build out the “HabiCorps” weblog. Once all the content is up my supervisor will take it over.

Now, here’s my real problem. I have the more recent wordpress site at https://www.inghamhabitat.org/habicorps – is there any way to migrate the existing files at https://www.inghamhabitat.org to a wordpress format?

Ideally I would like to have two seperate wordpress weblogs: one for the Ingham Habitat affiliate and one for the Americorps VISTA program.

I would really appreciate any help!

    Thanks a ton,

    Nick

  • As I could see there are only a few files in the root (though I might be wrong) – so the best way would be to manually transfer that content into Pages, maybe.
If you want to keep the look of the main site – you’ll have to design a theme that looks like your existing site.

You can have as many WP installs as you need…
Ask if you have more questions.

EDIT. As for migrating WP – see the Moving_WordPress guide.
