Moveable Type files to import to WordPress issue.

Hello there,

Brand new user to WordPress, so far so good, except for one thing (so far, which isn’t so bad at all!):

I want to import my old Moveable type weblog archives.

The problem is, the website that they were hosted on expired and no longer exists. I have the archive files backed up, is there a way for me to import these files directly from my hard drive?

I have searched the web and support for an answer, but nothing yet. I even went so far as going through the misery of installing Moveable Type again, but alas, it just wouldn’t cooperate with me and the errors were far too many.

I sure hope there is a solution to this.
