• I have a wordpress plus prophoto blog. I was successful moving my files over, but I am having a combination of errors. The first error is with my ISP and I will tackle that later today. The second though is a WP problem. I uploaded my database, but nothing on my site works except my home page and blog posts. My pages show I have 16 but I can not access any of the 16 pages. From my website it gives a 404 error. From the admin panel, they just refuse to load. Please help.

I use windows 7, and Firefox. My new host is Go Daddy. I am not sure what else you might need. Thanks.

Yes I have and the move was successful (at least the home page) but the subsequent files are not accessible and I am trying to figure out why.

I changed hosts. The domain name stayed the same. I am not educated in website configuration, so I have probably done something wrong. I followed the steps here: https://www.prophoto.com/support/move-blog/

As I mentioned, my home page works, and shows my blog posts. But the links to my pages do not work I get a 404 error.

From the dashboard, it shows I have 16 pages, but if I click on the “Pages” link, it never loads. In the recent comments section, I tried to click a link to another page and it too would not load. So I am stumped. I am thinking something didn’t go right in the import. But I don’t know enough and want to see if I should clear the contents of my database and try to import again, or what I should do?

Did you remember to update your permalinks?

Not sure I did. How do I do that?

Head into the Settings > Permalinks …make sure that you’ve got the same permalink settings you had on the old site.

If you are using Permalinks, go to the Administration > Settings > Permalinks panel and update your Permalink structure to your .htaccess file, which should be in the same directory as the main index.php file.

Thank you so much. As I said, I am very unfamiliar with web lingo. So first I will figure out what permalinks are and then follow those instructions! Thanks again for your help.

Sorry to keep bothering you! I am having severe issues as it takes 20 minutes for my admin panel to load, and I have been waiting for another hour for my permalink settings to load so I can make changes. I have called my ISP and they are unable to find my load problems. I am so frustrated at this point!

This diagnostic site says it’s a web server issue: https://ismyblogworking.com/www.retroexpressions.com

So I ran one of the other diagnostics on their site. It was a DNS traversal checker

    Which gave me the following:

    retroexpressions.com. 3600 IN A 97.74.214.64

I have no idea what this information is, but am hoping it can be something to assist in my issues.

You need to speak to your hosts about this. They are not WordPress issues.
