New to WordPress and DreamHost, can't get to admin page to start site

  • Just got hosting through Dreamhost and did 1 click install for WordPress. I get an e-mail asking me to “Please create an admin user at: (with link)” but when I click on link, it says page cannot be displayed. Tried refreshing but it did not go anywhere. I am assuming I can’t work on site until I create this user ID. Where do I actually get to work on WordPress and where is it installed (assuming on server. . .do I need to install on home computer)? Who helps me? Dreamhost or WordPress! Spent hours looking for solution, uninstalled and reinstalled on Dreamhost but no go. Help! Thanks in advance!

    I’m having the same problem. I’m guessing it’s because I’m still waiting for my domain to tranfer to DreamHost. Is this the case, or am I doing something wrong? I noticed when I click the link to Please create an admin user at: beadsandbrass.com/wp-admin/install.php, the page redirects to beadsandbrass.wordpress.com/wp-admin/install.php.

    Based on this forum post, I redirected my nameservers, but it’s still not working.

    Name servers can take up to 72 hours to take effect – but I DO see the install page here:

    Have you cleared your browser cache and cookies?

    I tried clearing my cache and browser but that didn’t work. Tried about 30 minutes later from a different computer and it worked!

    Having the exact same problem. However last night it all worked fine, created admin account etc, worked on site for 4 hours, today I get that the domain is parked. Deleted everything started again, got the new links from DreamHost Robot, domain is still parked?

    @tstyron1979: As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Posting in an existing topic prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

    I was deleting posts on the forum on my website when I got a message that I did not have the right to perform the action. I was directed to a page that required me to enter my site name, create a new password and instal WordPress. I did that, but it would not instal. What am I doing wrong or more appropriately, what should I do? What is happening to my site? My site is https://www.theunknownscriptactors.org
