Unable to add fields

  • I must be missing something but every contact form 7 tutorial or instruction etc i read always shows functions that I don’t see.

    I tried using the shotcode button but nothing in the drop down box says contact form.

    Apparently there is supposed to be an icon next to the add media button (at least according to this tutorial https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/) but I don’t have one showing…..

    can anybody tell me what the hell is going on here?

    I’ve used so many other programs to make contact forms and it’s always much easier than WP – perhaps I’m far dumber than I’ve been thinking I am.

    Ok deactivated this plugin and then activated it again and now it appears to be working except for one thing. Now when I add it to the custom menu and looking at it within the site the body container is only showing the tutorial page that is provided by the theme developer… it is NOT in the edit screen anywhere so I have no idea how this is showing up.
