I’ve been using TablePress’s import and automatic import feature for a while and all of a sudden it stopped working.

I haven’t changed anything in a while so I’m not sure what I did.

The automatic import isn’t happening anymore.

Nearly any button I press on the Import page takes me to a 404 link and the following url: /wp-admin/admin-post.php

I’ve disabled plugins and tested again with no joy.

Let me know what I can do.

    Thanks for all you do.

I just disabled the TablePress Extension: Table Auto Update and ran a manual import, and it worked fine.

There must be something wrong with that premium extension…?

I deleted the extension, re-downloaded it, and re-installed it. Still no joy. ??

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

If the automatic import doesn’t work, this usually indicates that the “WP_Cron” functionality is not being loaded.
This is usually done when a visitor comes to the site, but if you are using a caching plugins or just don’t have regular visitors, this is not done for technical reasons.

Could this be the case on your site?

If not, I can offer to take a direct look at this on your site. For that, please send me an email with details to a temporary admin account (my address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”).

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Tobias,

It’s not that the auto import isn’t working, the actual page appears to be broken. So it’s not a cron issue.

If I click on any button inside the import screen (when the auto updater) is installed, it causes a 404 error.

    You haven’t experienced this before?

Does the link I referenced make any sense?
    It tries to open /wp-admin/admin-post.php

    Hi,

    ok, thanks for the clarification.

Yes, that URL (/wp-admin/admin-post.php) is correct, so I’m not sure what’s wrong here. Does this file exist on the server? Are there maybe security measures active on the server, that could prevent access to that file?

    Regards,
    Tobias

I reinstalled the Auto Import Extension. I’ll reinstall the TablePress extension and see if that fixes the issue.

I’ll also disable some plugins and see if that fixes anything.

    Hi,

re-installing the TablePress Extension will not help here.
The missing file (/wp-admin/admin-post.php) is a WordPress core file, that should always be present.

And yes, disabling other plugins is also a good idea to further investigate this.
Also, I suggest to take a look into the server error logs, to see if there are PHP errors reported.

    Regards,
    Tobias
