    Hi,
    wp-greet is causing the following problems when it’s activated:

    1. Can’t add an image to any page (clicking on the “Add NextGen Gallery” button brings up the pop-up window, but there’s nothing to choose from, and clicking the “Add Media” button doesn’t do anything – simply nothing happens.

    2. Can’t add hyperlinks (nothing happens when clicking on hyperlink)

    3. Can’t drag new page up in the menu hierarchy

    All these things work fine when wp-greet is deactivated.

    Is there a way for me to fix these problems or will there soon be an update which fixes them?
    I would really like to continue using wp-greet, especially since I couldn’t find any other free e-card plugin yet. Thus, it would be really great if these problems could be fixed.

    Regards,
    Sophia

    Hi Hans,

    yes, wp-greet 3.1 and WordPress 3.5.1
    Do you have any ideas yet, how to solve the problem?

    Regards,
    Sophia

    Hi
    Thanks for a very nice plugin
    The same problem here. Can’t move the menu items around, as soon as I activate Wp-Greet.
    Using WordPress 3.5.1.
    Best regards

    Please try it with the wp-greet v3.2 beta.
    You can fetch it at https://www.tuxlog.de/wp-content/downloads/wp-greet-3.2.zip

    The 3.2. is a major redesign it replaces the static forms with dynamic templates. Thats the reason why it takes so long to release it.

    It would be great to hear about issues with this new release.

    Thanks

    Very cool! I did update to 3.2 and the problems have disappeared.
    However, I received none of my several test emails.
    I had a look at the documentation, and it says that I might have to adjust the phpmailer-conf.php. Since I’m still with T-Online and it worked before, I suppose I must have adjusted it. Unfortunately, I can’t remember how I did that. :S Could you please tell me how to adjust the phpmailer-conf.php so that it will work?

    And another question: Could I have several sub-pages with e-cards and on each of them have wp-greet? Like many of the greeting cards services have with their themed categories … like Christmas, Easter, Animals, Flowers, Spring, Summer, etc. Would that work with wp-greet?

    Hello Sophia,

    great it works. You have to fill in the credentials to access your SMTP-Server as it is T-Online I guess it is smtprelay.t-online.de for the servername.

    So, the phpmailer.conf looks like:
    <?php

    $wpg_smtpserver=”smtprelay.t-online.de”;
    //$wpg_smtpuser=”yourusername”;
    //$wpg_smtppass=”yourpassword”;

    ?>
    I think this part of the M package of T-Online.
    If you need a user and password then you have to enter it and remove the slashes at the beginning of the two lines too.

    Of course you can connect wp-greet to more than one gallery. Just add the galleries and then connect them via the admin dialog of wp-greet on page Galleries.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,

    Now, where do I fill these credentials in? Can I do that on the homepage via the dashboard somewhere? Or do I have to do this somewhere in the files on the computer? However, if it’s on the PC, I only found the file phpmailer-conf.php under wp-content — plugins — wp-greet, but I can’t open that in order to change stuff.
    Not sure what the “M package” is – I have the Homepage Basic package.

    Great that I can have more than one gallery. Will try that probably next weekend then ??

    Sophia

    You have to fill them into the phpmailer-conf.php. You can edit this file at your local computer using any normal editor or you can edit the file within WordPress under Plugins – Editor -then select wp-greet at the top right and wp-greet/phpmailer-conf.php. Edit the file within the editor window and save. This may be the easiest way.

    Cheers, Hans

    Hi Hans,

    Ok, found it in the dashboard, edited it – still won’t work.
    Noticed that in the title of the editor it says this:
    “Editing wp-greet/phpmailer-conf.php (inactive)”

    Why does it say ‘inactive’? Where can I activate it?

    Sorry for being so dumb :S

    Never saw this before. But digging a bit in the forums shows:
    : I found what caused that problem. I edited the plugin files while the plugin was activated and this screwed things up. Try deleting the plugin entirely then reinstall it. When you edit the plugin make sure it is inactive and then activate it when you’re done. Did the trick for me.

    Worth a try.

    Okay, great, that helped with the inactive issue. However, I’m still not receiving the ecards I send. Sigh
    What else could be the problem?

    Well, I now googled for the T-Online settings for SMTP but this depends on what packages you have booked.

    If you have the email package included the described settings should work.
    If not, try

    1. localhost as the server, your username for the mailbox and your password. But this will only work if your domain is hosted at T-Online.
    2. Maybe it is worth a try if you use the same settings as for your email client for sending mails.
    3. Does it work when you switch to php-mail within the wp-greet admin dialog?

    No more ideas at the moment.
    Note to me: I should switch wp-greet to use the WordPress mail functions, which wasn’t there when I started developing wp-greet. ??

    Hi Hans,

    I’ve tried for about half an hour now and it still doesn’t work … I’m running out of options.
    I’ve tried localhost, I’ve tried smtpmail.t-online.de (which is what Thunderbird uses), I’ve tried it with username + password from my normal email account, I’ve tried it with username + password from the homepage email account, I’ve tried it with php-mail, and all these in all the different combinations and now I don’t know what else to try. Sigh
    Do you have another idea?

    Do you have a log file somewhere where t-online writes some useful hints? Something like error.log or cgi.error.log?
    By the way, I assume WordPress is sending other mails to your account without any problems. Correct?

    Thread Starter Sophia DeLuna

    (@sophia-deluna)

    Hm …I wouldn’t know where to find such log files. Do you know where I could find them?
    What other emails would I receive from WordPress? I do receive the notifications for this thread.
