Terms2search and Terms2tags

  • After each post, I have headings for Trackback URL, Terms2search, and Terms2tags. Yet, nothing is appearing underneath the headings of Terms2search and Terms2tags. Under Admin>Plugins, it says that the Extract terms plugin must be enabled for Terms2search and Terms2tags to work. I have Extract Terms enabled.

    According to the Plugins tab, Terms2tags “returns Yahoo searches as Technorati tags.”

    So, when someone comes to my website based on a Yahoo search, there will be tags based on their search terms? Is that right? Am I understanding Terms2tags correctly?

    Terms2search says it, “returns Yahoo terms as search queries.” So, if someone comes to my website based on the keyword “widgets,” my website would show a search button with “widgets” in it (for the user to search my website for widgets)?

    Is my understanding of Terms2tags and Terms2search correct? Why does nothing appear underneath the headings for Terms2search and Terms2tags? Is this normal?

  • I think you misunderstand the two plugins. terms2search and terms2tags take use yahoo’s term extraction api and return your posts key terms as search queries and tags.

    Thanks Denis. Unfortunately, I only understand part of your answer. You wrote, “Terms2search and terms2tags use Yahoo’s term extraction api and returns your posts key terms as search queries and tags.” I understand the part about search queries and tags, but you lost me when you mentioned “term extraction api.”

    Can you show me a site that uses terms2tags and terms2search, so I can better understand how it works? You lost me on the whole “extraction api” thing.
