View unpublished posts

guys, I am trying to set a custom user role using “User Role Editor” plugin. I would like that a custom role be able to view draft posts but NOT edit them. I gave him edit_posts + edit_private_posts + read + read_private_posts + edit_dashboard .. however i’m noticing that he can only read published posts .. any idea? thanks
