Encoding problem after update to version 3.5.1
-
Hello,
After updating to WordPress 3.5.1 some strange characters started to show up in posts titles replacing special Italian characters for example the (è) is showing as black diamond with white (?) in it…
It’s more than a week and I’m trying to find a solution to this problem but no luck
I folowed a lote of suggestions that indicates deleting thedefine('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8');
from wp-config.php but in my case doing that just made it worse…Informations Of what I have now:
1. the database collation is set to:utf8_general_ci
2. The html output is showing<meta charset="UTF-8">
3. Itried to check the html output by w3 validator but I got this error blocking the validator: `Sorry, I am unable to validate this document because on line 616 it contained one or more bytes that I cannot interpret as utf-8 (in other words, the bytes found are not valid values in the specified Character Encoding). Please check both the content of the file and the character encoding indication.
The error was: utf8 “\xE2” does not map to Unicode`Any Idea suggestion would be very appreciated
